FIELD: polymer materials for sealing purposes; electrical engineering; laying cable routes through walls and pressure bulkheads in shipbuilding and shiprepairing; sealing and resealing cable boxes for maintenance of tightness during operation in tropics and Antarctic regions under impacts and vibratory loads and temperature differentials. SUBSTANCE: sealing compound is made on base epoxy dian resin, hardening agent and target component; pyrolysis of solid combustible fossils at density not exceeding 1.06 g/cu.cm and relative viscosity not exceeding 1.3 s and/or liquid oil sludge. Target component includes additionally hexamethylenetetramine. Definite relationship of components enhance adaptability in manufacture and reliability of sealing compound facilitating the procedure at simultaneous reduction of cost due to change in rheological properties of compound and use of utilizable products or industrial wastes at introducing of sealing compound in cavity of opening. Sealing compound is first introduced into lower part of cavity of opening to complete filling. After completion of shrinkage, sealing compound is introduced into upper part of cavity of opening for the second time. EFFECT: enhanced reliability of sealing; low cost. 3 cl, 3 dwg, 3 ex
