FIELD: nuclear power engineering; accelerator- controlled systems. SUBSTANCE: target device has liquid-metal target incorporating pressure chamber, charged-particle supply nozzle, as well as circulating pump, pressurizer, heat-transfer apparatus, and coolant pipelines. Main pieces of target-loop equipment, that is heat-transfer apparatus, circulating pump, and pressurizer, are disposed below free surface level of coolant in liquid-metal target by ΔH≥Hgas+ΔP(м), where ΔP is shielding gas pressure within pressurizer; Hgas is pressure drop in line between target and pressurizer. Adequate choice of ΔH enables setting pressure above free surface of coolant in liquid-metal target equal to pressure within accelerator, pressure above free surface of coolant within pressurizer being sufficient to ensure normal functioning of loop. EFFECT: improved conditions for normal operation of main pieces of loop equipment. 1 dwg
