FIELD: processes and equipment for treating powder materials at high impulse pressure and elevated temperature, manufacture of compacted products. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of forming hollow spheric blank out of powder; placing in cavity of blank insert of material whose acoustic rigidity is no less than that of compacted material; placing blank in center of spheric casing and applying cyclic impulse load to blank at successively decreased pressure level along front of converging shock wave at each next cycle; according to invention initially realizing dynamic afterpressing of blank at loading it by means of pressure of explosion products from spherically diverging detonation wave. EFFECT: enhanced strength of compacted powdered blanks with minimum degree of graphitization, oxidation and mutual interaction of powder particles in blank. 4 cl, 4 dwg
