FIELD: electrical engineering; submersible motor-pump units for extracting liquids such as oil from boreholes. SUBSTANCE: submersible induction motor has stator accommodating rotor radially mounted therein in two plain bearings built of housing and internal bushing. Outer surface of each bearing housing bears two slits longitudinal to motor sense of rotation to receive retainers in the form of oblong plate with two lugs. Flexible member is installed between retainer and bearing housing; two slots are made in inner surface of stator, their width being greater than plate thickness. Novelty is that depressions mating these slits are provided on opposite end surfaces of bearing housing at certain distance from outer cylindrical surface of housing. Each shoulder is partially bent in one direction perpendicular to retainer surface. Bent portions of shoulders are disposed in mentioned depressions for radial displacement. Flexible member is made in the form of flat spring and is installed in slit. In this way retainer is reliably fastened in bearing housing so that its misalignment in radial or axial displacement is made impossible.
