FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: top grinder has horizontal shaft mounted under protective housing, top grinding members mounted on shaft for removal of plant tops and provided with connecting link rigidly fixed on shaft. Top grinding members are made from chains. Chains arranged in plane transverse to shaft axis and corresponding to maximal height of bed transverse profile are connected through chains, which are joined with their ends to each second transverse link after connecting link or to outer transverse even link of chains. Chains are arranged in plane extending through shaft axis for defining plant bed profile between their maximal heights in longitudinal plane. EFFECT: simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 4 dwg
