FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves stimulating in reversed chess board pattern and recording invoked visual potentials. Rhythmic postdischarge is determined as mean value of potential difference peak amplitudes in 400-1000 ms bandwidth when separately stimulating the right and left eye. Critical postdischarge amplitude value is additionally calculated in mcV from formula Ak=K x ANP100, where Ak is the critical postdischarge amplitude value, K is the coefficient equal to 0.61, ANP100 is the mean value of positive component amplitude P100 in healthy people in mcV. The obtained values are compared. If mean postdischarge amplitude value is greater than the critical value, epilepsy is diagnosed to be the case. EFFECT: increased accuracy of diagnosis.
