FIELD: manufacture of electrostatic gyroscopes with spherical rotor and optical angle-data sensor. SUBSTANCE: method includes shape-forming of rotor, preliminary finishing of spherical surface of rotor, measurement of rotor unbalance and elimination of unbalance through finishing the spherical surface. Rotor is set in rotation in gas-dynamic suspension. Position of axis of rotation is set by means of laser beam. Then, additional measurement of position of vector of rotor unbalance is performed. To ensure optical pickup of signal, shaded zone is provided in pole zone of rotor which is surrounded by semi-circle with center in pole and arc of larger circle of rotor whose plane is perpendicular to plane passing through axis of rotation of rotor and coinciding with unbalance vector.
