FIELD: instrument making.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to instrument making and can be applied to making rotors for electrostatic gyroscopes. Method is intended for use in manufacture of rotors for sensitive elements of electrostatic gyroscopes. Process of making rotor comprises forming spherical rotor workpiece, its balancing, application of thin-film wear-resistant coating, and drawing raster pattern upon coating. First, initial disbalance of rotor is partially eliminated by directed adjustment with tubular lap; besides, balancing is performed until required final rotor diameter is achieved, and material removal zone is determined based on value and direction of initial imbalance vector, setting primary reduced radial component of said vector. At second stage, final balancing is carried out by performing two coaxial, diametrically spaced hollows on rotor surface with preset mass value removed from every hollow. At that, axial component is mainly ruled out from intermediate imbalance obtained at first stage, which is determined by axis angle inclination of hollows to symmetry axis of rotor, and hollows are made on spherical surface of ball segments outside zone of rotor raster pattern.

EFFECT: technical result consists in expansion of technological capabilities and higher stability of manufacturing process of electrostatic gyroscope rotor, including higher uniformity of coating thickness.
