FIELD: medicine, cardiology. SUBSTANCE: a patient's arterial pressure is measured during the first medical examination. Electrocardiography is carried out by conventional technique. The duration of QT interval is measured in V5 branch. Desirable duration of QT interval is calculated. Prognostic coefficient (Y) is calculated by suggested mathematical formula including these values. According to Y value one should predict a possible refractivity to antihypertensive therapy in male patients with severe arterial hypertonicity that enables to prescribe the course of adequate antihypertensive therapy in due time. EFFECT: higher efficiency of prediction.
