FIELD: ceramics. SUBSTANCE: method envisages following stages: preparation of homogenous liquid or pasty mixture of boron nitride powder, aluminum powder, and filler capable of hardening because of chemical reaction and/or evaporation of solvent; molding of the mixture followed by compaction and heating to temperature not exceeding ca. 70 C to harden the filler resulting in formation of solid treatable preform; removal of filler by heating to temperature of the order of 300 C; impregnation of pores of preform by immersing the latter into aluminum or aluminum alloy melt bath, removing impregnated preform from the bath and cooling; machining of the preform consisting of Al-BN composite to impart finished aspect to the surfaces of product; reaction caking at 900 and 1000 C to give aluminum nitride-based ceramics; heat treatment at 1000-1250 C to incite migration of residual aluminum from the pores and removal of aluminum accumulating on the surface of product after optional cooling. EFFECT: increased heat resistance in oxidative and corrosive atmosphere and preserved high coefficient of heat conductivity. 13 cl, 1 dwg, 3 ex
