FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: several porous substrates are disposed in succession with contacting layers which are sources of metal-based composition sources, each source including main phase from metal-based composition and auxiliary phase capable of forming structure of retention and drainage of metal- based composition in molten state is heated to temperature which exceeds melting temperature of metal- based composition so that molten composition may migrate from each source through surfaces of adjoining substrates within said substrates. Method makes it possible to treat several components and to attain high homogeneity of treatment. The resulting components are readily detachable after treatment operation, they are not soldered to each other, supports or to drainage system. Invention makes it possible to prepare carbides of refractory metals such as titanium, silicon, zirconium, hafnium, vanadium by using standard thermal treatment which does not use crucibles fro molten metal composition. EFFECT: more efficient introduction method. 30 cl, 9 dwg
