FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method of synthesis of succinic acid monoether from 17-hydroxysteroid and succinic anhydride. Method involves acylation of 17-hydroxysteroid using succinic anhydride in medium of aprotonic bipolar solvent at temperature 20-110 C in the presence of catalytic amount of excess of a base. Dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide, dimethylsulfoxide and other similar solvents are used as reaction medium. Different bases, for example, calcined potash, triethylamine are used as catalyst.
