FIELD: space engineering; mechanical energy generation within space vehicle. SUBSTANCE: device designed for generating mechanical energy for setting rotor shaft in motion dispensing with intermediate energy converters has rotor with bladed surfaces tilted through certain angle to axis of their revolution and makes use of solar rays incident on space vehicle for setting rotor in motion, rotor axis of revolution being directed towards solar radiation flux; rotor is built of two rotors equally loaded with respect to force and rotating in opposite directions so as to prevent transfer of reactive torque from revolving rotor to space vehicle; these rotors are mounted on coaxial or parallel shafts; bladed surfaces may be made, for example, of metallized film with frame. EFFECT: reduced cost due to use of solar energy for mechanical energy generation.
