AXIALLY COOLED ROTARY ELECTRICAL MACHINE Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2193813 C2

FIELD: electrical engineering; power-generating electrical machines for power plants. SUBSTANCE: electrical machine has stator and at least one winding ; it is characterized in that its winding has insulating system incorporating at least two semiconductor layers each forming actually equipotential surface and solid insulation disposed in-between; at least one stator tooth 4 in tooth sector 18 is provided with at least one cooling duct actually running in axial direction and communicating with cooling circuit carrying circulating coolant. In particular high-voltage rotary electrical machine is proposed, its cooling system being suited to operate at voltages ranging between 10 kV and supply mains voltage dispensing with intervening transformer. EFFECT: enlarged voltage range for reliable operation of cooling system. 51 cl, 8 dwg
