FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves shaping and supplying reference voltage to resonator electrode, specific voltages for reading and controlling to casing electrodes. One or more standing waves parameters are determined by performing differential summing-up, multiplying the obtained signal by time function A0(t) of rectangular impulses and given time function F0(t) and filtering lower frequency signals read from capacitance displacement transducers set on main axes of resonator oscillations. The device has resonator unit designed as axially symmetric thin-walled member, at least one resonator electrode fixed on external or internal resonator surface, casing bearing the resonator unit and a lot of casing electrodes placed close to resonator electrodes. Capacitance displacement transducers are composed of casing electrodes and the resonator electrodes. The input electronic unit additionally has devices required for selecting resonator oscillations signal read from casing electrodes.
