FIELD: electrical engineering; high-power switching-type regulated-current supplies. SUBSTANCE: current regulator that may be used in devices for cathodic protection of subsurface metal structures such as gas lines against electrochemical corrosion has inverter with first and second switching transistors and input transformer incorporating center-tapped primary winding and two similar secondary windings; collectors of switching transistors are connected to respective starting and finishing leads of primary winding and center tap of the latter is connected to positive pole of inverter input voltage supply; emitters of switching transistors are interconnected at common point and connected to negative pole of inverter input voltage supply; transistor bases are connected to output leads of control circuit; regulator also has two diodes which form, together with windings, center-tapped full-wave rectifier whose output is connected to input of LC storage filter with loading resistor connected at its output, negative lead of resistor being connected to center tap of full- wave rectifier; two current transformers whose primary leads are interconnected at one point and connected to negative pole of loading resistor and their starting leads, to secondary starting and finishing leads of inverter output transformer, respectively; secondary windings of current transformers are interconnected in series opposition and their common leads are connected to input of control circuit.
