FIELD: transport engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed steering system of crawler vehicle has control clutch release sensor for generating control clutch release signals, gearshift lever sensor for generating gearshift lever position signals and rotation sensor connected with steering member and generating steering member position signal. Invention is aimed at building steering system which brings steering gear out of action or out of opposite rotation with gearshift lever shifted from parking position into neutral position or from parking position into neutral position for shifting in gear irrespective of position of steering wheel. Bringing steering gear out of operation or prevention of opposite rotation makes it possible to restore steerability or opposite rotation by without setting steering wheel into central position.
