SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the steering of vehicles. Steering method includes determining whether an agricultural vehicle is in a parking state, determining the current orientation of the steering device, comparing the current orientation of the steering device with a neutral orientation of a hydraulic steering device. Steering system includes a valve assembly, a sensor configured to determine the current orientation of the hydraulic steering device, and a controller configured to: determine whether the agricultural vehicle is in a parking state, determining the current orientation of the hydraulic steering device, comparing the current orientation of the hydraulic steering device with a neutral orientation of the hydraulic steering device, upon determining that the agricultural vehicle is in a parking state, and when comparing the current and neutral orientations of the hydraulic steering device, adjusting the valve assembly in order to move the hydraulic steering device from the current orientation to the neutral orientation.
EFFECT: precise steering of an agricultural vehicle.
