METEOR RADAR ANTENNA OF THE CIRCULAR POLARIZATION Russian patent published in 2018 - IPC H01Q3/38

Abstract RU 2670235 C1

FIELD: antenna technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication and radiolocation facilities for meteorological support and can be used in radar antenna systems designed to obtain information on atmospheric parameters at small and medium probing heights and at the earth's surface. In a circularly polarized meteor radar antenna comprising a phased array antenna made of at least four sublattices with radiating elements that are connected to the corresponding outputs of the beamforming circuit, the shape of the radiating elements is designed so that it provides circular polarization of the antenna array, the arrangement of the radiating elements is made binary-coded with a non-uniform amplitude distribution over the radiating elements, and the sublattices with radiating elements are made radially symmetrical and are located equidistantly with respect to the center of the antenna. Shape of the radiating elements is made in the form of a striped antenna of square shape with a cut off pair of diagonally arranged angles, depending on the choice of which, with respect to the supply line, the right or left circular polarization is realized. In a binary-floor scheme for the placement of radiating elements, the triple power dividers are made with an unequal division coefficient.

EFFECT: increase in efficiency, a decrease in the level of the side lobes of the meteor radar antenna, and a reduction in power losses in the diagram-forming scheme (DFS).
