FIELD: thermomechanical treatment of materials with high pressure and temperature, particularly, devices for production of synthetic superhard materials, for instance, diamonds, cubic boron nitride and composite materials on their bases. SUBSTANCE: device has two coaxial hard-alloy anvil dies secured together by steel rings. Working surfaces of hard-alloy anvil dies have hollows in the form of conical surface smoothly conjugating with spherical surface in hollow bottom part, and step shoulder in zone of locking layer formation, container pressed of powder of lithographic limestone on organic binder, and containing reaction charge, and ring-couplings of plastic material limiting the zone of spreading of container material at production of pressure and temperature. Device is characterized by the fact that cone angle of said hollow equal to 96 ± 1 deg, hollow ridge 5 is higher than ridge 6 of stop shoulder of anvil die by 0.3-0.4 mm. Ratio of container height H to its diameter D equals to (1:1)-(1:1.6). Diameter of hole d in container 2 is selected so that ratio of container weight to weight of reaction charge is 3.4-3.6. Anvil dies are made of hard alloy of grade H6C MKTS - Sandvik. Ring-coupling is made of high-density polyethylene.
