METHOD FOR CASTING LEAD GRIDS FROM RECOVERED LEAD OF ACID STORAGE BATTERIES Russian patent published in 2002 - IPC

Abstract RU 2195751 C1

FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method uses recovered lead for manufacturing lead grids with components improving their technical characteristics being added to boiler in the course of casting. Added to recovered lead of acid storage batteries produced in the form of black or refined lead are components which do not burn out at low temperature of 320-350 C within boiler nor do they so when boiler temperature rises to 450-520 C and they improve casting qualities of grids when cooled down in mold at 120-189 C. In order to ensure uniform structure of lead and to eliminate fractions on grids sulfur in the amount of 0,01-0.02 % is added to lead. EFFECT: enhanced technical characteristics of grids.
