FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining movable body members oscillation frequencies and analyzing the oscillations at the next stage. The body members under study are brought into engagement with supporting member and averaged value of arbitrary isometric force applied to the supporting member are followed via biofeedback signal like display screen label movement. Involuntary component of the isometric force as difference between the current arbitrary force and the averaged value of arbitrary isometric force measured on some time interval. Functional state of the central nervous system is determined from the frequency of arbitrary and involuntary component oscillations and the results of their study in following period of time. Arbitrary force and involuntary components data of two or more movable body members are recorded and processed. The device has supporting member, and measuring unit having strain gages like resistance strain gages, differential amplifier, sensory irritation unit, computing unit, analog-to-digital converter and data presentation units, integrating and additional amplifiers. EFFECT: high accuracy in diagnosing pathologic states of the human central nervous system at early stages; high accuracy of arbitrary control action analysis. 3 cl, 5 dwg
