METHOD FOR ASSESSING FUNCTIONAL STATUS OF INDIVIDUAL'S CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B5/11

Abstract RU 2540534 C2

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medical equipment, studying motion parameters (shivering) of individual's movable links of the individual's body, reflecting the functional status of the central nervous system (CNS), and can be used in diagnostic purposes for early detection of CNS pathology, in research studies of neuron mechanisms of motion management. Both hands of the person being tested are placed in contact to a support member; a marker shift on the display screen shows a voluntary isometric effort applied to the support member, and time sequences (TS) of involuntary and voluntary components of the isometric efforts are formed. Graphically main components (MC) the amplitude-frequency parameters of which describe a cyclic activity of motion control system loops closed at different levels of the CNS from the TS within the frequency range of 100 to 0.1 Hz by mathematical analysis SSA-Caterpillar are recovered and displayed. That is followed by the frequency-amplitude analysis of the parameters of each TS in accordance with the position range in relation to a frequency axis and the visual analysis of a pattern structure obtained for the isometric effect on the basis of signs specific for healthy persons being tested and the patients suffering neuromotor disorders. The TS is distributed in the MCs at a quantising pitch of not less than 100 Hz; the MCs that are involved in the TS by not less than 5% are recovered for the analysis. The CNS pathology and functional status is shown by asymmetry of the right- and left-hand MCs, and/or by maximum MC shift in relation to the frequency axis, and/or by fusion of two or more MCs.

EFFECT: method provides high-accuracy diagnosing the functional status of the CNS by recovering the specific diagnostic parameters enabling determining activity and its disorders for the respective CNS structures.
