AUTOMOBILE BRAKE SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2196063 C2

FIELD: automotive industry. SUBSTANCE: proposed brake system is furnished with inertia brake mechanism mounted on accelerator pedal lever to back up control. Proposed mechanism has eccentric grips mounted on common axle, centers of gravity of said grips being connected by strip. Eccentric grips are installed for selective interaction with one of operating toothed strips one of which is connected with accelerator drive cable, and the other, with cable installed for acting onto vacuum booster rod through sheaves and lever when accelerator pedal is sharply pressed on. Invention prevents acceleration of automobile when accelerator pedal is pressed on instead of pressing on brake pedal by mistake. EFFECT: provision of reliable braking of automobile by pressing accelerator pedal in emergency. 3 dwg
