SUBSTANCE: method involves forming and drying paper web in paper making machine; applying pattern onto at least one side of paper web by means of pattern applying unit formed as printer; applying protective coat by means of coating unit mounted in papermaking machine. Apparatus has pattern applying unit made in the form of printer and coating unit for covering produced pattern with protective coat. Said units are arranged downstream of paper web forming and drying zones of papermaking machine.
