FIELD: study and analysis of motor gasoline. SUBSTANCE: proposed method deals with examination of motor gasoline by means of electric and electromagnetic means, it can be utilized in petroleum refining industry, in process of transportation, storage and realization of fuels in all branches of economy where operational control over quality of gasoline is required. Analyzed gasoline is fed into cell of capacitor and into inductance coil. Frequency is being changed till resonance occurs. Resonance frequency ν of oscillations in oscillatory circuit is found under established resonance. Resonance frequencies of standard motor gasoline with known octane numbers are conducted in advance and dependence of resonance frequency ν on octane number is determined. Determined dependence is presented in the form of graph, table or analytical formula. While examining gasoline with unknown octane number resonance frequency ν corresponding to it is found and its octane number is established by determined dependence.
