FIELD: systems identifying and monitoring library objects such as books. SUBSTANCE: system has certain number of objects served to users, each bearing radio-frequency identifying device provided with specific identifying code. Processor unit is coupled with database indicating location of each library object as well as with serving point, object return point, and returned-object sorting point. Return point has accepting device wherein object being served is entered and wherein return of library object bearing radio-frequency identifying device is detected. Identifying code read out that corresponds to object returned is sent to processor unit and the latter corrects information in database. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 15 cl, 4 dwg
