METHOD FOR TREATING MALIGNANT TUMORS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves heating malignant tumor zone. Photosensibilizer is introduced into it. Photodynamic therapy and thermotherapy session is given. Laser-induced thermotherapy session is given before or in injecting the photosensibilizer. The zone occupied by the malignant tumor is heated to 40-45 C with laser radiation having radiation spectrum in the optical bandwidth zone being nearest to infrared zone differing from photosensibilizer absorption spectrum. Combined sessions of photodynamic therapy and laser-induced thermotherapy are applied. The treatment is carried out with 4-5 days long pauses at least twice.
