FIELD: technology of conversion of titanium-calcium basic material, specifically, disintegration of titanite concentrate. SUBSTANCE: titanite concentrate is treated with nitric acid with concentration 15-25% at temperature of 110-130 C in the course of 5.0 h. Then reaction mass is cooled to 20-25 C and is filtered with separation of titanium-carrying solid residue. Titanium-calcium basic material is treated with nitric acid preferably under pressure of 1.2-2.4 kg/sq.cm in reactor. Technical result of process lies in increased extraction of calcium in solution to 93.5-98.0% and of share of chemically active octahedrite form of titanium dioxide in solid residue to 40-60%. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 cl, 1 tbl
