FIELD: organic chemistry, chemical technology, catalysts. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to synthesis of alkyl-substituted quinines by oxidation of alkylaromatic compounds with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of porous amorphous titanium- -silicate catalyst as aerogel or xerogel with titanium content 0.2 wt.%, not less. Catalyst is synthesized by acid hydrolysis of silicon, titanium and ethyl silicate-40 alkoxides and the condensation stage of synthesized low-molecular polysilicate hydroxide, titanium and silicon hydroxide is carried out in the presence of basic catalyst to yield gel. Gel aging is carried out in the air and dried using either carbon dioxide under supercritical conditions to form titanium-silicate aerogel or by conventional drying in the air under atmospheric or decreased pressure to form mesoporous titanium-silicate xerogel. Method ensures to enhance purity of synthesized substances and exclude poison impurities. EFFECT: improved method of synthesis. 19 cl, 2 dwg, 2 tbl
