FIELD: organic chemistry, biotechnology, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: colchicinoid compounds are metabolized to corresponding 3-O-glycosyl derivatives using strains Bacillus megaterium. Biotransformation is carried out in fermenters under aeration conditions using glucose, fructose or glycerol as carbon sources at 28-40 C and pH 6-7. Method of biotransformation exhibits specificity and allows to obtain differently substituted colchicines with high degree of conversion, up to 95-100%.
