FIELD: metallurgy, possibly rolling shapes with use of bearing cones. SUBSTANCE: shifting value of roll grooved passes in depending upon order of their operations is determined due to boring rolls according to given relation taking into account running-in degree of bearing cones at operation of first roll grooved pass. Invention provides enhanced surface for rolling rail head, increased strength of rolls due to lowered total asymmetry range at operation of one roll grooved pass and due to creating the same working conditions for all grooved passes.
