FIELD: mechanical engineering; metalworking. SUBSTANCE: drills made from steel P6M5 are heated in furnace to temperature of 270 C; they are placed in cassettes which are secured on opposite side walls of resonance chambers by means of tape suspensions and are immersed in oil containing ultra-dispersed powder made from natural minerals and their mixtures from group of minerals of laminate silicates, different structural modifications of composition Mg3[Si2O5](OH)4. Compressed air is blown into resonance chamber through slot of receiver forming pulses of sound pressure and frequency of acoustic oscillations are regulated by means of wedge. Frequency of acoustic oscillations was changed between 500 and 1500 Hz at power of acoustic oscillations ranging from 140 to 160 dB. Tools and parts are acted on in zone of longitudinal oscillations of acoustic pulses of power and excited bending mechanical vibrations of resonance chamber causing change in level of stresses of dislocation structure of tools and parts due to forming stress gradient and deformation gradient over entire volume. Due to combined action, density of defects of crystalline structure is increased and dislocation structure is re-arranged, thus changing mechanical properties, enhancing hardness, wear resistance and ductility of tools and part.
