METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF CATALYTICALLY ACTIVE LAYERS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: catalysis of chemical reactions, for example oxidation reactions of hydrocarbons. SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes production of active layers including carrier and reaction catalyst at simultaneous magnetron spraying on substrate followed by subsequent roasting of sprayed layers. Spraying is performed at inclination of surface of substrate to axis of magnetron discharge at angle of 90 deg. at regular turn of substrate around axis perpendicular to its surface; before spraying, relief in form of projections and/or recesses are made on substrate; height of this relief is no less than thickness of layer being sprayed. Spraying is performed in high-frequency mode of magnetron. Angle between surface and axis of magnetron ranges from 50 to 70 deg. Regular turn of substrate around axis perpendicular to plane of substrate is performed in one direction through angle of turn ranging from 8o to 100 deg. and thickness of layer is regulated by spraying time. Roasting of sprayed layers is performed under conditions when partial pressure of catalyst material does not exceed 4•10-5 Pa.
