FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for sealing fittings and valves operating at high pressures and temperatures of coolants in heat and nuclear power stations and other devices operating at high parameters of working media. Proposed sealing unit for fixed joint has first and second joint parts coupled through split joint for clamping gland seal placed in between. First and second parts of fixed joint are of two-step shape forming step ring space for accommodating gland seal made in form of truncated-cone solid of revolution consisting of two metal conical elements. Sealing element is placed between conical elements. Upper conical element is displaced relative to lower conical element with resting at one side on first step of first part and at other side, on second step of second part. Second conical element, in its turn, rests on second step of first part and first step of second part to acquire wavy form under working conditions of gland seal and to contacting, at least by one wave, with end face surface of first part and, at least by one wave, with end face surface of second part.
