FIELD: manufacture of fittings; shutting-off working media in various industries. SUBSTANCE: proposed distance piece has body with open circular slot in its end surface. Body consists of two parts in cross section: rectangular part for reinforced graphite filler and trapezium part widening towards open side. Body is provided with cover having circular projection which is received by second part of circular slot. Cross section of circular projection is decreasing towards cover mounted on body at spaced relation. Ratio of clearance to diameter of distance ring ranges from 0.005 to 0.05. EFFECT: enhanced tightness due to increased force of sealing-up. 3 cl, 4 dwg
