FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for sealing fittings and valves operating at high pressures and temperatures of coolants in heat and nuclear power stations and other devices operating at high parameters of working media. Proposed gland seal is made in form of sealing element - solid of revolution, at both sides of which metal disks are installed in parallel with diametral sealing plane with possibility of engagement with its end face surface and contacting with surface of joint element when gland seal is in operating position. Bushing of gland seal is installed inside sealing element coaxially to its axis between metal disks for enclosing joint element and with clearance to enclose bushing by material of sealing element from three sides, when gland seal is in operating position. Heat resistance and thermal conductivity of said material are higher than heat resistance and thermal conductivity of bushing material featuring lower coefficient of friction with material of joint element than similar coefficient of friction of sealing element.
