FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves determining diene conjugates concentration at wavelength equal to 232 nm (E232), conjugated trienes and ketotrienes at wavelength equal to 278 nm (E278), Schiff's bases at wavelength equal to 400 nm (E400), catalase activity (Ecatalase), superoxide dysmutase activity (Esod), pyruvic acid concentration (PUAC), lactic acid concentration (LAC) in blood serum using spectrophotometric method in isopropanol phase. Peroxidation activity coefficient relative to antioxidation system (A) is calculated as relation E232+E278+E400+Ecatalase+Esod. Brain tissue hypoxia manifestation degree (B) is calculated as ratio PUAC/LAC. Brain injury severity degree is calculated as A/B ratio, the value being below 1.85, mild injury degree is to be diagnosed. The value being between 1.9 and 2.5, moderate severity injury is to be diagnosed. The va being equal to or greater than 2.6, severe brain injury in the case of cerebral ischemia is to be diagnosed. EFFECT: high accuracy of diagnosis.
