GENERAL-PURPOSE RIPPER-SEPARATOR Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2197798 C2

FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: ripper-separator has frame and two parallel shafts with horizontal axes of rotation. Shafts are mounted on frame and equipped with spiral members. Shafts are interconnected through synchronizing drive formed as chain transmission. Set of rotors with vertical axes of rotation are mounted behind second shaft. Rotor fingers are made curved for cooperation with helical surface of spiral member mounted on second shaft. Rotor fingers are inclined to field surface toward side opposed to direction of rotation of resultant vector of forward and circumferential speed of rotor. Inclination angle of rotor fingers is smaller than angle of soil friction against metal surface of inclined finger. Ripper-separator is used for surface cultivation of soil. EFFECT: improved quality of soil crumbling, increased efficiency in separating weedage from soil and reduced usage of herbicide for weed control. 2 dwg
