FIELD: agricultural engineering. SUBSTANCE: mellower has frame with successively arranged front and rear batteries of rotary working tools, and drive for connecting working tools by adjustable transmission ratio. Working tools are mounted on immovable shafts. Adjusting bushings are mounted in spaced relationship on rear battery shaft. Knife is mounted on hangers. Knife and safety unit are connected to bushings. Safety unit is made in the form of additional bushings with openings and safety pins. Safety pins are positioned for insertion in bushings to provide for different operation modes for knife. Mellower of such construction is used in presowing cultivation machines. EFFECT: simplified construction and enhanced reliability in operation. 5 dwg
