SUBSTANCE: method involves measurement of signal-to-noise ratio of power control bits received in mobile station from base station for frameless data transmission period of allocated code-division multiple access channel and frame check-up for error basing on measured value of signal-to-noise ratio; in case of frame error power control threshold is raised and if frame has no error, this threshold is reduced. Power control device has signal-to-noise ratio meter, frame error detector, and power threshold controller responding to frame error indicator.
