SUBSTANCE: method for controlling transmission power of mobile- station common backward channel in CDMA communication system includes following procedures: accumulation of power control signals received within predetermined time over common forward channel; comparison of accumulated value with threshold value; generation of command signal to reduce transmission power; maintenance of existing transmission power in case accumulated value is higher than threshold value. Device implementing this method has power control signal accumulating unit and power controller for comparing accumulated value with threshold value, generating command signal for power reduction or for maintaining existing transmission power.
