FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to metal cutting and is intended for finishing, mainly, cylindrical surfaces of crankshaft journals. Parts clamped on lathe is revolved relative to axis of machined surface at the rate of rotational speed. Face milling cutter with scraper plates is arranged perpendicular to generatrix of machined surface and revolved at milling speed. Said milling cutter is translated along said generatrix at the rate of lengthwise feed. Mulling cutter rotational axis is shifted relative to said generatrix in tangential direction.
EFFECT: higher wear resistance and wettability by lubricant.
