FIELD: telephone communications engineering. SUBSTANCE: proposed method and device are meant for using wireless subscriber stub in multiple-input telephone set one of whose inputs corresponds to special-purpose handset and at least other one, to standard analog telephone set so that two or more telephone-system users can establish intercommunication and communication with remote-call user. Telephone set incorporates two echo-signal suppressors to attenuate echo signal brought in due to mismatch between impedances of "four-port/two port hybrid circuit and special-purpose handset. First echo-signal suppressor is optimized for suppressing echo signal caused by acoustic coupling between handset components while second echo-signal suppressor is optimized for suppressing hybrid echo signal built up in "four port/two port hybrid circuit. Two echo-signal suppressors operate independently with the result that neither of them needs adapting its permeability coefficient in case of changes in echo-signal channel characteristics that may occur when subscriber replaces handset or when other subscriber enters in conference communications. EFFECT: facilitated attenuation of acoustic-coupling echo signal and hybrid echo signal. 11 cl, 3 dwg
