FIELD: protection of articles used in nuclear power such as tubes of fuel channels and fuel-element jackets against thermal corrosion. SUBSTANCE: article made from zirconium alloy is subjected to heat treatment and film of zirconium dioxide free from through pores and microcracks is formed on surface by any method; then one of chemical elements beginning with fifth group and higher is implanted in film. Ion implantation is effected at energy ensuring length of ion beam path not exceeding thickness of oxide film. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 2 cl, 7 dwg
