METHOD FOR CORRECTING DISTAL-TRUNCAL HYPOSPADIAS Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, surgical urology. SUBSTANCE: at the first stage of operative correction one should dissect fibrous cords along ventral surface of phallus. Skin should be replaced from dorsal surface onto ventral surface of phallus. It is necessary to develop excess of prepuce at ventral surface of phallus being proximally against meatus. Moreover, after mobilizing skin around trunk through open incision of mobilized skin one should withdraw caput onto dorsal surface of phallus. Cross-shaped incision of mobilized skin is carried out in projection of meatus. Then one should suture the edges of cross-shaped incision and cutaneous "small hilum" of meatus. Six months later the second stage of operative correction should be conducted. Artificial urethra is formed out of prepuce. Developed urethra is rotated in distal direction to be fixed at the top of caput. The method provides prophylaxis in developing urethral fistulas in postoperational period. EFFECT: higher efficiency of correction.
