FIELD: laser engineering. SUBSTANCE: solid-state platelet laser module has its optical pumping sources disposed on end of pair of opposite narrow side faces so that their axial plane is tilted through certain angle to longitudinal axial plane of element. Pumping effectiveness and its uniform distribution over active-medium volume are enhanced due to zigzag passage of pumping beams. Heat is transferred by conductive method from pair of wide opposite side strips of element faces. Surfaces of element and heat-transfer units are brought in contact by means of intermediate optically homogeneous heat-conducting layer transparent for pumping beams and lasing, its thickness being ≤(0,1÷0,25)(λ1/λ), where λ1, λ is heat conductivity coefficient of layer material and active element, respectively. Narrow side faces may be made in the form of cylindrical surfaces or planar surfaces inclined through 0≤β≤0,45deg to normal relative to wide side planar faces.
