METHOD FOR DETERMINING INTESTINE VIABILITY AND OPTIMUM RESECTION BOUNDARY IN THE CASES OF INTESTINAL PATENCY OF STRANGULATION-TYPE Russian patent published in 2003 - IPC

Abstract RU 2200472 C2

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: method involves examining intestinal micro-circulation using Doppler flowmetry techniques. An intestine is considered to be viable when intestinal wall perfusion is equal to 30 ml/min/100 g of tissue and higher in the case of small intestine and 20 ml/min/100 g of tissue and higher in the case of large intestine after strangulation cause having been eliminated. The values being below 30 ml/min/100 g of tissue in the case of small intestine and below 15 ml/min/100 g of tissue in the case of large intestine, resection is to be carried out in proximal and distal positions with respect to the necrotized area in the zones having micro-circulation properties normal for said intestine segment that are recorded as mean values equal to 10±3,4 on the adducting loop and 5,1±2,1 on the abducting loop from strangulation position. EFFECT: high accuracy and information capacity of studies. 2 cl
