FIELD: methods of performing heterogeneous catalytic reactions. SUBSTANCE: method includes passing the reaction mixture through reactor containing at least one layer of flexible fibrous catalyst; gaseous or liquid or gas-and-liquid reaction mixture is passed through reactor; at least one bearing symmetrical distributing unit is arranged inside reactor; axial line of this unit coincides with direction of motion of flow or deflects from it at angle no more than 30 deg. Reaction mixture is passed only through permeable parts of said unit; starting reaction mixture is introduced in inner space of bearing distributing unit and reacted mixture is discharged from outer space of this unit in opposite direction; catalyst is placed on partially or fully permeable side surface of unit. Said method reduces hydraulic resistance of catalyst layer to flow of reaction mixture, facilitates mounting and replacement of catalyst, excludes passage of mixture past catalyst layer.
