FIELD: processes and apparatuses of chemical engineering, applicable for accomplishment of heterogeneous exothermic synthesis, in particular, in production of methanol or ammonia from synthesis-gas. SUBSTANCE: the reactor comprises a vertical body, cover and bottom, pipe connections for inlet of source gaseous mixture and outlet of target product, gas-proof horizontal partitions that carry layers of catalyst, at least one mixing chamber for agitation of hot gaseous flow outcoming from the layer of catalyst and cold gaseous flow fed through a distributing device from the pipe connection for inlet of source gaseous mixture, installed below and in parallel with the gas-proof partition is a blind partition, between which an intermediate cavity is formed which receives the hot and cold gaseous flows, and the mixing chamber communicates with the intermediate space and is furnished with a gas conduit, which is so installed that the gas flow comes out through it from the mixing chamber to the reactor cavity below the intermediate cavity and gets additionally mixed. The mixing chamber is made as a hollow cylinder with a blind cover and bottom and holes for feeding to it of gaseous flow partially mixed in the intermediate cavity made in its wall at the level of the intermediate cavity. It is located coaxially and along the reactor axis, hermetically connected to the gas-proof partition and partially dipped in the layer of catalyst. The gas conduit in the mixing chamber is made in the form of a pipe and installed coaxially and along the reactor axis. EFFECT: prevented overheating and deactivation of catalyst. 4 cl, 2 dwg, 1 ex
